Letter Exchange/Wireloop Installation
Jun 2017 - Sep 2017
Parking Day 2017

Parking Day is an annual event that is co-organised by Singapore University of Technology and Design with Urban Redevelopment Authority Singapore that aims to connect the public together using unused parking spaces in the neighbourhood.
For this project, our team designed and built 2 installations: Letterboxes and Wire loop game.
The intention of the letterboxes was to promote letter exchanges within the public. The usage is simple: Write a heartfelt letter, drop it into any of the 14 boxes and take one letter out from any of the remaining 13 boxes. The boxes were designed based on 14 different countries' letterbox from all over the world, each with their own unique appearance. This showcase the diverse ethnicity that can be seen in Singapore with its harmony.
The second installation is a wire loop game that is enlarged to live size made using copper pipes. The aim of this game is to move the connector ring from one end to the other without touching the pipe. Failure to do so will trigger a buzzer.
For each of the installation, my role involves building the circuitry for the lights inside the boxes, the circuitry for the buzzer attached to the copper pipes and combining the structure together.

This project is manpower intensive and was only achievable with this group of dedicated people! Special thanks to Ali, Beverly, Jia Juen, Rachel, Kevin, Wei Jin, Latasha and Edmund for all their hardwork and time spent on the two installations.
